About Us
Meet The Team
At The Mold Mutts, our K9 teams are trained to the highest industry standards, with
a relentless focus on consistency, accuracy, and reliability.
We believe exceptional results begin with exceptional training—and that
standard never wavers.
To ensure our teams not only meet but exceed industry best practices, our dogs and handlers are certified by an independent third party, the
American Working Dog Association (AWDA). We are proud to be the first mold detection K9 team and business in Utah to achieve this highest
industry-recognized level of third-party certification.
Unlike in-house or trainer-issued certifications, independent testing eliminates conflicts of interest and provides our clients with unbiased, verifiable proof of our capabilities. This commitment to transparency and accountability ensures the highest quality service—and confidence you can trust.

Daria
Owner, CEO, K9 Handler
Daria wears many hats in running her business, but her favorite by far is handling and working with her dogs.
She started The Mold Mutts from the dog training side—working closely with dogs, understanding how they learn, and developing their incredible scent detection abilities. Training and working dogs has always been a passion of hers.
When mold was discovered in her own home, she began researching mold toxicity and realized many of the symptoms associated with mold exposure were ones she had personally experienced. That moment connected two worlds for her: her passion for working dogs and her desire to help people address hidden environmental health issues.
The Mold Mutts was created to bring those together—using the power of trained detection dogs to help families locate hidden mold and take the first step toward healthier living.
When she’s not working, Daria loves spending with her pups- whether thats out adventuring/working or simply enjoying a good book snuggled on the couch.
Scout & Ransom
Mold Dogs for Daria
Ransom and Scout are dedicated mold detection dogs for Daria, using their incredible noses to locate hidden mold with precision. Ransom, a 4-year-old Dutch Shepherd from Slovakia, was trained in scent detection and excels at his job with incredible skill and enthusiasm. When he's not on duty, he enjoys cuddling with his handler Daria or running freely on outdoor adventures.
Scout, a 4-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog, comes from a breed known for its strong hunting instincts, making him a natural at using his nose for detection work. Off the clock, Scout loves snuggling with his family and also going on outdoor adventures.

Draco
Mold Dog in training for Daria
Draco is a 1 year old Belgian Malinois selected from a litter where both parents excel in scent detection work. With his strong genetics and intense drive, Draco was chosen first from the litter—a testament to the natural focus and energy he showed from the very beginning.
Draco began scent detection training at just 8 weeks old, and it quickly became clear that he loves the work. His enthusiasm, determination, and natural ability make him an exciting mold dog in training. He’s working hard toward certification and can’t wait to be out in the field one day alongside his big brother, Ransom.
When Draco isn’t training, life is a bit more… chaotic. He loves outdoor adventures, body-slamming mom as his version of cuddling, and relentlessly bullying his big brother Ransom into playing long after Ransom has decided he’s done for the day.
Savannah
K9 Handler in training
Savannah is one of our dedicated K9 handlers in training, bringing a thoughtful and
purpose-driven approach to her work. She was introduced to working dogs through her wife, a K9 narcotics handler with a local police department. Through this experience, Savannah witnessed firsthand the powerful bond between handler and dog—and the meaningful impact they can make together. That experience inspired Savannah to serve families in a similar way through mold detection.
Known for her calm demeanor, kindness, and empathy, Savannah consistently goes above and beyond for every client she works with. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her wife and daughter, caring for their ever-growing “zoo,” and unwinding with a good horror movie.

Finn
Mold Dog in training for Savannah
Finn—also known as Finnegan—is a one-year-old Springer Spaniel with an exceptionally powerful nose and an undeniable drive to work. With a natural talent for detection and a true love for the search, Finn is happiest when his nose is on the job.
Off duty, he enjoys snuggling with his mom, chasing birdies, and making fast friends with everyone he meets. Whether he’s working or relaxing, Finn brings enthusiasm, heart, and passion to everything he does.
