Why should I go with a Mold Dog?

Hiring a mold detection dog offers a precise and efficient way to identify mold in your home or business. Our trained Catahoula Leopard Dog, Scout, can detect mold hidden behind walls, under floors, and in other hard-to-reach areas, finding mold that would normally go unnoticed. This non-invasive method is faster and less disruptive than traditional mold detection techniques, saving you money, time and the hassle. By using a mold dog, you get a thorough inspection that helps protect your property and health, providing peace of mind and a healthier environment.

How was Scout the Mold Dog trained?

Scout is not just any mold dog. He had to pass a rigorous test to confirm he has the natural genetic abilities to excel. Since then, Scout has been trained under the watchful eye of Russ Bishop at Rival K9. Russ is P.O.S.T certified, which is endorsed by the U.S. Supreme Court for expertise in dog psychology, behavior modification, and canine development.

Is hiring a mold dog expensive?

Although our price may be higher upfront, we could save you thousands later. Traditional mold testing typically costs a few hundred dollars per test. On top of that, there is the potential for remediation to miss the real problem, leading to repeated cycles of expensive remediation.

By using a mold dog to locate hidden mold throughout the home, you minimize the potential for these endless cycles. Additionally, identifying isolated locations of mold reduces the overall cost of remediation.

Can Scout really find mold hidden in walls?

Yes! Dogs' noses are so powerful that they can detect what cannot be seen by the naked eye. Their olfactory system is highly advanced, making their sense of smell incredibly powerful. With around 300 million olfactory receptors—compared to 6 million in humans—dogs can detect and differentiate a vast range of odors at concentrations up to 100 million times lower than humans. Their remarkable olfactory abilities make them invaluable in roles like search and rescue, detection of drugs/explosives, medical diagnosis, and MOLD.

Additionally, Scout's training has primarily prepared him through repeated practice in finding mold that cannot be seen by humans or other dogs.

Are Mold Dogs honest?

Dogs are unique because they are not driven by money or greed like humans. Dogs have few things that entice them to work. Scout's is his toy. Not only is he trained to work for his ball, but his handler is trained with the ability to read and recognize his body language and cues to aid in even more accurate results.

How accurate are Mold Dogs?

Mold dogs hold a higher accuracy than the typical mold testing.

Scout our mold dog has incredible accuracy. To become fully certified he had to pass his test with a 90% or above! The high expectations he is held to ensures you our clients are only receiving the best we have to offer.
